Today's Friday Quickie is so Epic it doesn't fit into just one video!!! I know you are going to love this tip-filled double feature!! :) There are amazing tips in both videos that I know you'll find really useful! Lots and LOTS of tips shared and many are based on feedback from you watching videos and coming to classes.
First of all--the Sandwiches:
1. Bigz Dies
2. Embossing Folders
3. Framelits /Thinlits
4. "Intricate" thinlits
When you do the Embossing Folders--make sure you don't WRAP your cardstock around folder. When you wrap it, it will either rip your card as it goes through, or it can take part of the design off your card.
When putting thinlits through your big shot, run them through so the skinniest amount runs through the big shot. This way more "cutting pressure" is distributed on a more condensed area of the die, cutting it better. When it has to be spread over the longer area, there is less "cutting pressure" distributed on the die the "long way" ALways feed it perpendicular to the roller in your Big Shot.
Another common question: When do you use the Precision Plate? I use it much of the time (cause it is just sitting on my magnetic platform). I DON'T use it when I am working with a Framelit that scores such as the project with the Circle Card Thinlit and most of the boxes we have Because the Precision plate is designed to cut really well, it often wants to cut the score lines.
This fun card uses the Circle Card Thinlits combined with the Timeless Texture Stamp Set and the Flower Shop Stamp set. It is so fun to use this circle card thinlit for these flip cards--I keep forgetting that I have this thinlit and need to pull it out more! I love that it fits on a half-sheet of cardstock perfectly!
I love the look of the Crumb Cake Card base with the Typeset DSP and the pop of color!
I created the "Bonus Flap" for this--I show how I did it in the Part 2 video. Basically, just pull the cutting plastic back behind the end of the framelit so it does not cut!
The scallop is done with one of the pieces in the Circle Card Thinlits. The flowers are the Pansy punch (stamped with the Flower Shop Stamp set in Bermuda Bay).
I love these cards--I added the metallic thread on the second one during the video! :) Think I like that one better!
This card is really easy! I diecut the heart in black (used the precision base plate and die brush for all those little bits). I added the metallic thread under the heart and added the flowers. I love the pop of color against the black heart. The centers are Metallic Sequins (in gold). The sentiment is from And Many More.
The edge was trimmed back and then I adhered the Metallic Glitter Tape to the card (it is one of the new Sale-a-bration items)
Now onto at least one of my crowning achievements in stamping--more butterflies!! :) These have all the best things in them! Black card base, some glimmer (silver on the aqua, gold on the pink), watercolored elements, and butterflies! Ahhhhhhhh.......
The video shows how it is all done (part 2).
The colors for this are Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Night of navy on the black backing and Silver Glimmer Paper.
The bigger butterfly is diecut with watercolor paper. The smaller with Silver Glimmer Paper.
The watercoloring is so easy and fun!!
This one is my fav!!! I love everything about it!! The bright color--the gold glimmer--the butterflies!! Ahhhhh....card nirvana!! Or maybe a stampgasm!! Don't judge!!
LOOK at this bright color!!!!! Sooooo pretty!!!
