As promised, here is a tutorial for my Stampin Up Presentation...the projects are easy and fun to make! Again, thanks to fellow demonstrator, Jan Tink (Janine Tinklenberg) for her inspiration (okay, she came up with the ruffle edge part...and best yet she allowed me to use it for my presentation in front of 500+ people!! Check out this post... http://drekow.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/04/back-with-a-bang.html
I made a box you can see how here:
I then covered the box with printed paper and now I am going to decorate the box with a scallop ruffle edge.
Here is what you need:
Scallop border punch
1x12" piece of printed paper
Wide Oval Punch
Scallop one edge of the printed paper (I used the "A Walk in the Park" printed paper from the Occasions Mini catalog.
The crimper allows for "pleating" of the piece which will help you get it around the oval in a minute...
Next, pull off the backing....
I find the easiest way to do this is to start with the oval (sticky side down) and press the pleats to it. Remember, you need to keep "pleating" or gathering those crimped bumps to keep it nice and even all the way around!
Add a little sticky strip to the beginning edge, and stick the tail down. Trim any excess. Most of the time I am able to line scallops up, so it looks perfect!
And finally,,,,here is the finised box! ADORABLE (If I can say so!!)
Hope you enjoyed it!!
