I hope you are ready for another Friday Quickie!! I am loving this project and I hope you will, too! Today I am going to teach you the art of Faux Suede!! It's not just for Fringe Jackets, anymore!! :) How pretty is the texture of that Razzleberry circle?!?
This card folds on the Crumb Cake Layer (cut piece 10 1/2 x 4" and fol) and then adhered to the back panel of Early Espresso, which is a 1/4 sheet or 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" This way the inside of your card is a lighter color ( so you can write in it and actually see it) and the bonus is that I cut a 4" strip of printed paper which I cut 3 pieces of 3/4" x 4" strips for the card. That way you get more out of your sheet! We can't possibly waste any of that printed paper we are hoarding!!!
I actually made this card with a couple of my downline who were over the other day--Carmen and Pam. They are absoutely beautiful human beings and I made this card up as we were just sitting there. I liked it but was thinking I could improve on it, and my improvement was the card I featured in the video.
One of my favorite parts of Stampin Up is the fact that I can showcase the versatility of our products, so that's where this card came from! I knew a leaf would be gorgeous with this technique and so I figured that I better try it out. Soooooo, I die cut my leaf, then started running my bone folder all over it...I was being careful, too! Of course about 4 swipes in, I ripped my leaf....hmpf!
I figured I run the paper with the bone folder FIRST, then cut it out.... NOPE....Third time's the charm, right? Turns out you want to split up the paper (like I did with the circle), THEN once you've separated the layers, put them back together as they were, THEN run them through the big shot with your framelit.....Ahhhh, success!
Soooo pretty!! I think this would make an awesome Wedding Card! Or any occasion, really! The Silver Glimmer leaf is just so pretty, too! I tore an edge of Soft Sky paper to go along the edge to bring it all together. I thnk the wood accent couldn't be cuter, either! But of course, I was not done:
Oh, Dotty Angles, you never fail me! I love that set for great backgrounds! And it is great here!
Another wood accent and this time some Sahara Sand Lace trim! Beautiful on my Crumb Cake Card with the Suede Razzleberry Leaf and of course, some more glimmer!
