I saw this Can You Case It Challenge Card and immediately knew I could come up with something special! The Reason for the Season Stamp set was sitting on my desk and I knew that it woudl be perfect for this sketch!
I pulled out my Watercolor Wash Background--I had used it on a card from this past weekend's A Day in the Creativity Cave event and knew it would be a great background to complement the watercolor look of the poinsettias.
As I was getting ready to pick colors, I knew I wanted pinks. I love pink poinsettias and thought this would be awesome! The line image was stamped in the corner of my square panel in black and then I took the petals image and inked it in Blushing Bride. To add some more dimension in the colors, I grabbed my sponge daubers and sponged some Calypso Coral in a circle around the center and going out about 1/2 way. Then I put a bit of Real Red in the very center with my dauber. I then stamped it down and LOVE how it came out! So pretty to get the gradiated colors! I did the same for the leaf stamp using Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.
And as I added the greeting in Real Red, I decided it would be perfect with my Framing Technique so I grabbed my square framelits and it just so happened that one of the fit perfectly! I traced the frame and LOVED the look--the frame ties it all together!
