So, today I have two posts for you. It is a big day--the day before Sale-a-bration is over. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....
I love Sale-a-bration! It is the best of all things Stampin Up: Great products, free stamps, fabulous options! Why wouldn't you love Sale-a-bration? If you have not yet taken advantage of this amazing sale, the good news is you still can. The bad news is that it is only good for one more day! It ends Thursday, March 31st. Don't miss out! Now in case you needed some last minute inspiration, here it is. And it comes with a fabulous story of Stamping Confessions--you are not going to want to miss this video! :)
So this fantastic card hilights some of the most fabulous products from the Sale-a-bration offerings: Botanicals for You stamp set, Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum Stack and my favorite stamp set (from the Occasions Catalog), Botanical Blooms. That is like some kind of stamping trifecta! Better yet, check out the color combo:
LOVE IT!!! Something a little different and fun! I just love the way it looks with the vellum!!!!!
Hope you love it, too!
The Just for You is stamped in Black archival on the vellum--just make sure you let it dry completely before adhering it to the stamped panel. I hid my adhesive behind the letters. EASY!!!

So the theme for this week's challenge is Weddings!! Tis the season! I love a good wedding card and I am so excited to share this card. I went with Gray and Purples. Back in the day we had the color, Almost Amethyst with Stampin Up and I used to love that color for wedding cards. It was a great color, but after they retired it, I never really found a good color for wedding cards (like the ones you just have on hand....) well this card is easy to make and has a few nice touches to make it fancy! ;)
So I love the fact that I am using the Build a Birthday set for weddings--I love when things are versatile for more than one thing!! The cake plate is stamped in Smoky Slate with Elegant Eggplant for the bottom layer of cake and Wisteria Wonder for the top two layers. Some Silver Sequin Trim frosting and the celebratory flags at the top in Elegant Eggplant! :)
I then added a few flower punches with some bling (cause everyone needs bling for a wedding, right!) Last but not least, the Congrats is from my go-to stamp set: Cottage Greetings! I love the sweet look of the font in that set and it is perfect for dressing up this card! It is really a simple card but I love how it turned out!
As I am sitting here writing my post, my teenaged daughter, Ella is practicing her Viola--she was selected today to be in an elite state-wide orchestra at the end of next month and one of the pieces they are playing is Take 5. I LOVE that song! I love listening to her work through the music. She printed it off a few minutes ago and after a couple of google searches for the song and listening to it, she is piecing it together nicely. She kind of amazes me! I could never do what she is doing at that age. Oh the world we live in! But there is actually a reason I bring this up--I mean when was the last time I digressed from my original point....ok don't answer that. The reason I mentioned my darling daughter is she and 3 of her amazingly talented friends played in a quartet for their school Orchestra teacher's wedding. They arranged rehearsals and worked on the music all on their own time--and they got paid!! Their first gig! It was pretty cool! My baby is growing up! How did she get to be 14?! oh, and she started driving....but that is another post and another card! ;)

VELLUM!!!! Vellum is awesome! There are so many different things you can do with vellum that I LOVE!! I have just scratched the surface in today's video, too! I could have kept right on stamping more cards because there are just so many fantastic ways to use it! But here are a few of my favorite ones:
Of course none of my pictures do this card justice, but it is absolutely gorgeous!! I just love how it turned out--and a few of the details just don't show up--like the wink of stella that adds some gorgeous shimmer on this card!
The color combo is an awesome one that I am certain to revisit!
The video shows how I did the watercoloring. I really like how gorgeous it turned out--and Lilacs (especially the smell) are the true sign of spring--in my honest opinion! I think you could heat emboss the image in white, but I really like the matte look of the white ink on the vellum. I think the embossing would kind of take that away and I'm not sure i'd like it as well. The look is subtle and it is so easy to do. Plus I am absolutely lazy. Heat embossing requires dragging out all kinds of stuff. While there is a time and place for that, I'm not sure it is this card!! :)
I wish you could appreciate how stunning it really is in "real life". Maybe you should just come visit me and stamp! ;)
On this fun card, I started with some printed vellum--the Botanical Garden Vellum stack--found in the Sale-a-bration catalog. The awesome part is that it is FREE!! The cool part is it is already printed so you don't have to do that yourself. I punched the petals with the Festive Flower Builder Punch. The stem and greeting are from Grateful Bunch. It actually came together pretty quickly!
So pretty!
For a fun birthday card, I used the Balloon Celebrations Stamp set and placed vellum over the Its My Party DSP. Tones down busy backgrounds. This isn't so much a busy backgound, but it is a nice way to make a subtle card. Greeting is from Happy Happenings.
Told you I liked stamping white ink on vellum!
This card is so pretty--it uses the Floral Frame Collection Thinlits and I love the layered look. Each petal is curled for a dimensional look, despite not being all that thick. I love that! THe center is stamped in Blushing Bride ink with the flower from Beautiful Bunch. The vellum softens the background. Greeting is from Bravo!
Spritzing--because I can't help myself. I love the look! And it is so easy! Can you see the pressure embossing? I show it in the video, too!
Now can you see it? :) It is super fun--and something that I need to play with a bit more--I'm thinking there is more fun in this concept to be had!
Of course diecutting with vellum is AWESOME!! I diecut the butterfly thinlit with vellum and it tones down the butterfly. Some Silver Metallic Thread, Perfect White Embellishments, and you guessed it, spritzing for a fabulous get well soon card. Who wouldn't feel better if this card came to them in the mail?
Isn't it pretty?!?!?!?
Hello graduation?! Tis the season before you know it. I used the Number of Years stamp set and framelits for this one. I am bummed the set doesn't have "class of" in it. Hello? That would have rocked! I'll settle for a congrats from the Tin of Cards Stamp set.
The vellum is from the Botanical Garden Vellum Stack (its not even a tropical card!) And I punched it and the red layer with the Triple Banner Punch. EASY! Quick! My fav!
This card really looks awesome in person--it just doesn't get captured in the photo. Like the red is stamped with stars--perfect for a grad!
Like the stars I stamped inside the card...
And of course, the most awesome card!!! I love how darn cute this is!??! If you are a Creativity Cave VIP--head over to our FB page and check out the video on how this card is made! It is crazy easy and awesome! Not a VIP? WHAT??? I would love, love, love to have you join our group!! All you have to do is place an order with me! I always find Tic Tac Toe Challenges fun because there are so many possibilities for making cards!! I chose to go right through the center of the board with GOLD, SEQUINS and CONGRATS for my card:
I suspect I am not done with this pin in terms of inspiration either! There are so many awesome things going on here! The Chevron, the colors, the flowers....oooooohhhh! S
But back to my fabulous creation!! You can see the colors and chevron were clearly inspired by the pin. The Gold, sequins and greeting go with our challenge this week! I think they go together fabulously!! the larger flower is the Fun Flower punch in Watermelon Wonder. The smaller flower is in Calypso Coral and is diecut from the Botanical Blooms Builder Framelits (as well as the Night of Navy leaves). The Chevron comes from the Stamp A Bag stamp set that I had used last week on my fabulous Black and White Background Cards that you can see here. The gold center is die cut from Gold Glimmer Paper (Botanical Blooms Builder Framelits and the strip is the Sale-a-bration Glitter Tape (how easy is that stuff!?) A few metallic sequins and that's it!
I think it really turned out great! But as I was getting ready to shoot the video, I decided I should try it in Silver and here is what happened:
The Silver looks fantastic, too! I added some flowers on the smaller Calypso Coral flower that I had diecut and I like the look! Everything else was the same!
The cool part is the sequins and glitter tape are from the same package that had the gold so you can do it either way! Yay!

imbringingbirthdaysback is a movement just started by my friend Shannon West, who works for the Home Office of Stampin Up! She started this movement with the simple concept of getting back to sending cards in the mail to celebrate birthdays rather than just a post on Facebook--and since we are in the business of spreading joy through awesome cards, of course it is a super catchy concept!! I love the idea of sending out cards to more and more people and who wouldn't love to receive a fabulous card in the mail? That would make anyone feel special on their Birthday!
How awesome is this card?? You may remember during this video, I had made this background but wasn't sure what to do with it (and I didn't want to mess it up!) Here is what I came up with and I am thinking it turned out pretty cute!
I love how fun the watercolored polka-dots are!! I used the Dots and Stripes Decorative masks! LOVE them! I used the Botanical Blooms Builder Framelits to cut the flowers and the greeting is from the set, Cupcake Party. Colors are Bermuda Bay ink, Melon Mambo Cardstock, Old Olive Cardstock, Watercolor Paper and Black Archival ink. I think it turned out adorable!!
Drop me a line and let me know what you think!

So this post is really just a result of getting my groove going on last week's Friday Quickie. Originally, the post was supposed to be about backgrounds, and after I got going stamping, it turned into a Timeless Textures specific theme. If you missed it, check it out here! The funny thing is it all started out with this pin:
It is from my Stampin Up Inspiration Board. Most of what is there are AWESOME colors, beautiful pictures or designs that look like they could translate to cards. I like it a lot because they are really great to start with if you are stuck with no ideas rolling around in your head!
So I loved the idea of the geometric background in black and white with a pop of color to go with it! So this is my first card! I LOVE this card!!! It turned out great and I really just love that it all came from a rug pin! Check out the video to see how easy it is to stamp! Remember my friends, butts out! ;)
Isn't this just the most fun card?! I really like the little flowers in Soft Sky and the leaves to just really add a punch of color!
In the video, I got a wild hair and decided to go Baja with my stamping by adding one of the other images in the Bohemian Borders set, the diamond. I think it is a fun touch! While I wouldn't want to make dozens of these cards, it is kind of fun to see the difference!
Everything else is exactly the same!
Then I knew I wanted to try this background/border image from the set, Summer Silhouettes. This is one of my all time fav sets from the main catalog because it is easy to stamp and it is a fantastic 2-step set! The colors here are Black and white (obviously) with Bermuda Bay! I pulled in the Beautiful Bunch set that coordinates with the fun flower punch I've been using and I love the look!
It is so hard to photograph the look of Wink of Stella, but i have it on the black center (1/2" circle punch) as well as the petals of the flower! Super simple card but really striking with that neat background design! I don't think I am done with this design yet--I can see too many more possibilities!!
The greeting is from Cottage Greetings.
Here is another fun card using the Stamp A Bag stamp set (while I have stamped a bag with this set, it is absolutely one of my favorites for card-making)!! There are several options for backgrounds and I LOVE this one!!! Black and white polkadots are AWESOME!!! How could you not like the look of these?!
Interesting to note: This background is stamped with the Black Archival pad and the next card is stamped with the Black Memento. You can really see the difference-the memento almost looks gray to me. Worth using the Black Archival ink for that true black look.
I love these two cards, too! This is another design I am just not done with yet!! This is one of the projects for this weekend's A Day in the Creativity Cave! I have a couple of spots left if you would like to join in on the fun! I am so excited about the take home version! You can see the details here and reserve your take home kit! This is truly an amazing deal!! LOTS of bang for your buck!!
I hope you loved these backgrounds as much as I do! They are so quick and easy to put together and make for some super fun cards! There are just under 2 weeks left of Saleabration, so don't miss out on this amazing special where you get a FREE saleabration item for every $50 you spend and best yet, you get to become a Creativity Cave VIP!! A great sketch this week from Ginger and I will admit I had a hard time getting going on this one, but I really like what I finally came up with! And what is awesome is that I came up with two versions!!
Version 1: Manly
Are you ready to stamp? Both have the same supplies--gather yours up and join me!
1/2 sheet of Pear Pizzazz cardstock
2 3/4 x 4" Very Vanilla
3 x 4 1/4" Wild Wasabi
Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz (or if you prefer, Wild pizzazz or Pear Wasabi...depending on how you ink your pads--its in the video! :) ).
Burlap Ribbon
Simple random stamping! Really easy to do! The Leaf is from Kinda Eclectic and the greeting is from Butterflies Basics.
Version 2: A little Girly! :)
Everything is exactly the same but I changed the greeting--With Sympathy is from Rose Wonder. I added some Elegant Butterfly Punches with vellum and the center flower is punched from the Tree Builder Punch with a pearl in the center. Easy Peasy! I also cut the burlap into a banner. I think that is another nice touch (and a part of the sketch).
Hope you liked these 2 cards!! Masculine cards are always requested and I love how this one turned out--especially because with a couple extra steps, it takes on a more feminine look! Very fun! Now back to my Wild Pizzazz Pad.....

DSP Hoarder Bundles are available--and have been a huge hit! They are a great resource for using up all of your hoarded (you know you've got tons) Printed Papers. I've had a lot of great feedback on these bundles so make sure to check them out--Click on photo for more info!
Twice a year, I hold an event, A Day in the Creativity Cave. It started out as a fantastic customer appreciation event and it is truly my favorite event to plan for! I love sharing with you a day filled with amazing projects, fun treats that I've been working on, and a goodie bag filled with amazing surprises and even some games! If you are a local customer, this event is happening THIS SATURDAY, March 19th. I would love to pamper you with a day filled with stamping awesomeness (including lunch) and if you are too far to come, I would love to ship you a box of fabulousness so you can have your own day in your Creativity Cave! The day will include more than a dozen projects, a goodie bag valued at over $60, games (with prizes--you can participate even if you are not here) and a few treats to delight you including a PDF containing all the projects so you can create them (or refer back to them later on) plus new this time are exclusive video tutorials on some of the projects we will make! I am so excited about all that I am able to offer you for this fantastic day of stamp-pampering!
If you would like the take home kit, it will be shipped to you Tuesday March 22nd. Take home kits include all the supplies to complete each project (all pre-cut cardstock, punched pieces, diecuts and so on). You add your own stamps! If you don't have exactly what I used, don't worry, you'll be fine--I even have some tips to help you!
