Welcome to The Creativity Cave and another edition of Friday Quickie Techniques and Tips!! This week I have a tip that is going to make you happy!!! How to keep your big shot cutting plastic plates from warping!
When intricate dies first came out, they would not cut all the way through and it was VERY frustrating! We added waxed paper, dryer sheets and all kinds of shims to try getting those little pieces to fall out. Then came along the Magnetic plate and Precision Base Plates. They worked pretty well, but left us with bubbly, lumpy and bumpy cutting plates. Here is the solution that is likely to knock your socks off and doesn't require much--but the key is the "newer" platform that comes with the thin die adaptor and having your die placed cutting side UP when running through the big shot.
I am really not sure what was done, but this newer platform (it comes standard in a Big Shot if you have purchased one in the last couple of years) is the key to getting great cuts every time!
Are you ready to try this out? Make sure you start with a crisp new set of cutting plates--you can buy them by clicking the link below! I would be so grateful for your business!!
